Kathi, a Batesburg-Leesville native, spent the first 10 years of her business career as a paralegal with an Aiken, SC law firm, later entered the mortgage lending industry as a mortgage processor/closer and began her banking career with Security Federal Bank in 2001.

Kathi serves as Senior Vice President for the Bank. She was instrumental in establishing Security Federal Bank’s Financial Counseling Program in our Midlands Market area.

Kathi is a Certified Housing Counselor by the Association of Housing Counselors. She works closely with first-time home buyers to help them navigate successfully through the mortgage origination process and find the product that best fit their individual needs, whether a FHA, City Lender, SC State Housing, USDA, VA or conventional loan.

Kathi serves as the Bank’s CRA Officer. In her role as the Bank’s CDFI Coordinator, she manages Security Federal Bank’s MICRO loan as well Weatherization & Energy Efficiency Home Improvement Program (WEEHILP).

Kathi is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Lexington County, past Board Chair and Director of CSC Habitat for Humanity, member of West Metro and Lexington Chambers of Commerce, serves on the Board of Directors for Benedict Allen CDC, Columbia Housing Development Corporation and SC State Housing Advisory Council.

Kathi is a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and serves as Youth Ministry and Awana teacher, choir and finance committee member.
